DeiSaku Fanfic Ch. 7
Sakura woke. The bright sunlight streamed in through the window nearly blinding her. She couldnt remember what had happened after Deidara hugged her last night. What happened? Sakura sat up and hung her head in her hands. Her head was throbbing. She let out a slight groan and got out of her bed.
Morning Sakura-chan, Deidara smiled as Sakura stood up. He was standing in the doorway.
What are you so happy about? Sakura mumbled a little bitterly. She had finally remembered what had happened yesterday
what had happened to Ino.
Deidara smiled delicately and handed Sakura little package, I made this for you, un.
Sakura took the package and looked at it accusingly, What is it?
Oh just something I want you to have, Deidara looked discomfited as Sakura started to sniff the unopened package, Its not anything dangerous you know.
I know, I know, Sakura retorted as she peeled back half of the wrapping paper.
Deidara watched Sakura closely.
Situated in the palm of Sakuras right hand was a little brown box. It was unadorned but it was quite beautiful in its own right. It was made out of clay and coated in some sort of gloss.
Its just a little something I had with me, Deidara said quickly, trying not to seem soft, I just thought you would like something like that; just to cheer you up a bit.
Thank you Deidara-kun, Sakura smiled warmly.
You can do what you want with it, I uh, just thought you might like it, Deidara smiled nervously.
Sakura placed the box down on her bedside table and kissed it gently, Ill keep it with me, I promise.
Deidara smiled once again, You better keep your promises.
Sakura poked her tongue out at her partner and went to the kitchen to make some breakfast.
~
Deidara yawned as he stretched his arms in front of his body, his stomach was stuffed with the lunch he had just eaten, So, we leave on our mission tonight right?
Yeah, as soon as night falls, Sakura confirmed him, Well be travelling mainly by night.
Fair enough, Deidara nodded in understanding. He then flung his arm around Sakuras shoulders and smiled, So, Sakura-chan what are we going to do until then?
How about a walk? Sakura suggested slightly.
Deidara thought for a moment, You sure you want to go out today, after what happened?
Sakura looked down, On second thoughts, lets not.
Deidara squeezed Sakura tight, Dont worry about it, Sakura-dana, un?
Sakura-dana? Sakura looked sceptically at Deidara.
What? Whats so wrong with me calling you that? You are my partner, un?
Sakuras eyebrow lifted itself up her forehead, Okay then
Im going to lay down for a bit.
Suit yourself, Deidara smirked and sat down on the lounge.
~
Alone: once again. Geez, what was with this place? Deidara thought to himself. There was nothing to do at all! Oh well, at least they would be leaving tonight and he would finally have something to proper to do. Anyway staying in Sakuras apartment wasnt as bad as he thought it would be. His host was quite beautiful and caring and sure the bed wasnt that comfortable but he had gotten used to it. He felt as if Sakura was one of the only people who understood him.
Deidara bit down into his bottom lip and made it bleed at the thought of Sakura. Why did he feel always queasy when he thought about her? Well, he did kiss her and hug her
maybe it is just a fleeting crush
that wont evolve into anything
Deidara hoped. But still deep down in the pit of his stomach there was an uneasy feeling, as if he did actually love Sakura. How could he go through with his mission if he was in love with her? How could he betray her in the way that he was ordered to? How could he
Deidara shook his head abruptly. He could, he just couldnt! He once again bit down into his bottom lip.
I CANT DO IT! Deidara had stood up and was now sweating quite a lot. He had knocked over the table in front of him making it crash on the floor. His chest heaved up and down.
Sakura ran into the room to see what was the matter. She stood there staring at Deidara in shock. A large splinter that had separated from the table had skewered his hand; it was dripping blood everywhere.
Deidara-kun, what happened? Sakura rushed to him and held his hand, I heard you yell out, whats wrong?
Deidara looked on the verge of tears, Forgive me, Sakura-dana.
For what? Sakura was now wrapping up his hand in a bit of cloth that she had gotten from the kitchen.
Deidara winced and avoided her gaze.
What is it!? Sakura projected her voice.
Nothing, its nothing, dont worry, Deidara said softly.
But youre bleeding! urged Sakura.
I said its nothing! Deidara pushed Sakura away from him harshly.
Sakura held herself up. The blow from Deidaras hand was stronger than she had expected. She clasped her hand over her shoulder where he had hit her. It hurt. It really hurt: in more ways than one.
Deidara looked astounded. He couldnt believe what he had just did, Im sorry Sakura-dana, I didnt mean to-
Sakura backed away from Deidara; We should get some rest before we set out tonight.
She turned and went back to her bedroom.
Deidara stood there. Just stood there, nothing else. He couldnt believe that he had just actually hurt her. He felt guilt fill up in his stomach. What was he going to do now? How could he make it up to her?
But one thing was sure
Sakura-dana hated him now.
